CDISC ‘26 Recap: TMF Culture & Engagement: Bringing Everyone Under the Same Umbrella

Written by Lul Hassan | Jun 5, 2026 8:20:50 PM

As a first-time attendee of the CDISC conference, this year held in Milan, I had the great opportunity to meet like-minded and influential figures in the space, as well as present my poster on TMF Culture and Engagement.

Poster. Set. GO!

After ensuring the poster survived the flight and having it displayed in one of the key rooms for the 2-day conference, I took the opportunity to engage attendees and discuss the key points of the poster, highlighting the weather-theme underpinning it all along the way.

Many attendees were able to visit the poster sessions during the breaks, particularly over the lunch break, and the feedback and discussion were very insightful.

During quieter moments, I was also able to view posters created by some of the other presenters, and they provided insight into their topic of choice, which were often very informative and current (e.g., use of AI in this field).

The four seasons, Milan edition.

The focus of my poster was highlighting the importance of building key working relationships with the study teams from the start, ensuring the emphasis of the TMF is highlighted early on to ensure expectations are clear, to help foster a positive culture around TMF activities.

As part of the poster, I used many weather-based visuals and wording, providing a reminder to always “Check the forecast” (e.g. check in with your teams), “Weathering the storm” (working methodically together to ensure activities are completed- even when there is a “Flurry” of competing activities) and ensuring responsibilities are clear with good communication, so everyone is aligned/under the same “Umbrella.” The layout ensured the poster was easy to follow, and the key takeaways were summarised using the visuals and an in-person overview as well.

Final Thoughts

There were many good posters this year, as well as many educational talks, and I really enjoyed my time at the conference.

Being awarded the “Best TMF Poster” was the cherry on top of an already amazing experience.
